The Allen Independent School District features a challenging and diverse curriculum. It oversees fifteen elementary schools, three middle schools, one freshman center and one high school. Graduates do not have to go far to continue their educational pursuits because Collin County Community College shares the same campus.
Healthcare options in the area include the Presbyterian Hospital of Allen, North Central Medical Center (about 6 miles away in McKinney) and IHS Hospital at Plano (about 7 miles away).
Allen’s close proximity to Dallas/Fort Worth means its residents don’t have to travel far when they need the services of an international airport, and if they don’t want to or can’t drive themselves, an airport shuttle service is available. Public transportation options in the region include Greyhound bus service and Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART).
